VHIT Nears Recruitment Goal

Virginia HIT (VHIT) is now supporting more than 1,800 providers who are working to reach meaningful use of their electronic health record (EHR), placing us over 80 percent of the way to our recruitment goal.

The commitment to working with VHIT to achieve meaningful use is paying off for many of our practices. More than 900 providers are e-prescribing and running clinical reports. Many practices are also on their way to achieving Stage 1 meaningful use of their EHR. More than 81 providers are in their 90-day reporting period while just under 120 practices have attested and are receiving their Medicare EHR incentive checks.

“Provider recruitment has proven successful, as you can see from our current data. We are second among all 62 regional extension centers (RECs) nationwide regarding the number of providers who have attested to meaningful use. Our goal is to continue on this path, effectively engaging providers across the state in an effort to promote the use of health information technology,” said Letha Fisher, VHIT Director.

If you have not signed on with VHIT, it is not too late to get started. Contact us today to learn more about our services and the benefits of working with the REC.
